Accessibility Statement

The Power House Apartments at UC is committed to digital accessibility and to providing equal housing access to people of all abilities.

Our commitment

A site, and a community, that everyone can use.

We design, build, and maintain www.powerhouserockhill.com so that prospective and current residents — including people who use assistive technology — can find information, schedule a tour, apply for an apartment, and contact our leasing team without barriers. The Power House is also an Equal Housing Opportunity provider.

Conformance status

Our goal is to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard most widely used to measure web accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act.

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are working to remediate the gaps listed below.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML structure with one H1 per page and clean heading hierarchy.
  • ARIA landmarks (navigation, main, contentinfo) and a visible "Skip to main content" link.
  • Descriptive alternative text on all gallery and content images.
  • Keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators.
  • Text contrast tuned to meet WCAG 2.1 AA targets (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Mobile responsive layout that supports up to 200% zoom without loss of content or function.
  • Forms with associated labels and accessible error messages.
  • Consistent navigation across all pages.

Known limitations

We continue to identify and fix accessibility issues. Known areas where this site is still being improved:

  • Some embedded third-party content (the AppFolio listings frame and the ResMate tour scheduler) is provided by external vendors. We engage with both vendors on accessibility improvements; in the meantime, every action available in those tools is also reachable by phone or email (see Contact below).
  • Some legacy media assets (older photography metadata) may not yet have full text alternatives.
  • PDF documents created before 2025 may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Please contact us for an accessible version of any PDF.

Reasonable accommodations & reporting accessibility issues

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site or need information in an alternate format — including help touring, applying, or signing a lease — please contact our leasing office. We will respond within two business days and will provide reasonable accommodations to ensure you can access our information and our community.

Telecommunications relay services are available for callers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability. In the United States, dial 711 to be connected to a relay operator who will place the call to our leasing line.

Assessment approach

The Sherbert Group assesses the accessibility of www.powerhouserockhill.com through a combination of:

  • Self-evaluation against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
  • Automated scanning (axe-core / WAVE).
  • Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing on each major page change.

Equal housing & fair housing

The Power House Apartments at UC is an Equal Housing Opportunity provider. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, or any other class protected by federal, state, or local law. If you believe you have been discriminated against, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at hud.gov/fairhousing/fileacomplaint or by calling 1-800-669-9777.
