Every loft at The Power House was carved from the original 1920s power plant, so the architecture does the decorating: walls of century-old brick, steel trusses overhead, and oversized factory-pane windows that flood each home with daylight. Kitchens pair quartz countertops with black cabinetry, stainless appliances, and pendant lighting; bathrooms feature glass walk-in showers and quartz vanities. Studios, one-bedrooms, and the bi-level and tri-level two- and three-bedroom lofts each take a different shape from the structure around them — which is why no two apartments in the building are alike. Every home includes a full-size in-unit washer and dryer, and the upper-floor lofts look out over the historic railroad trestle and the atrium below.
A lounge as impressive as your apartment.
The community lounge fills the building's soaring atrium — designer seating, a marble-top bar counter, large-screen TVs, and neon pendant lights hanging from the original industrial ceiling.
Where turbines once stood, residents now gather. The atrium rises multiple stories through the center of the old plant, ringed by exposed brick and the original steel stairways that connect the floors. Velvet sofas, marble accent tables, and the bar counter make it a natural spot for a morning coffee from the ground-floor cafés or an evening drink before heading down to The Pour Market. Just outside, the Event Lawn & Stage hosts concerts, markets, and festivals through the warmer months.
A 1920s power plant, reimagined.
The exterior preserves the original brickwork, signature smokestacks, and industrial form — reborn as a 23-acre mixed-use district at UC, Rock Hill.
Built in the 1920s in Rock Hill's textile district, the power plant was converted in 2023 into 37 luxury apartments. The restoration kept the landmark smokestacks — now lit at night and visible from across University Center — along with the oversized factory windows and heavy brick walls. From the air, the building anchors the district, two minutes from downtown Rock Hill and a short walk from the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The historic aerial shows the same footprint a century ago; the difference today is the life on the ground floor and in the homes above.
